The nation is observing a state mourning on Saturday following the death of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
As part of that, the national flag is being flown at half-mast at all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, educational institutions, public and private buildings and Bangladesh missions abroad.
Special prayers seeking for Hadi were held at mosques across the country after Friday prayers, while places of worship of other faiths also organised prayers in his memory.
His namaj-e-janaza will be held on Saturday at 2PM at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka. Flying drones in and around the parliament complex will be strictly prohibited during the programme.
Meanwhile, a decision has been taken to bury Hadi beside national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on the Dhaka University campus, in line with the wishes of his family, said a separate Facebook post from Inquilab Moncho’s official page.
Hadi died at Singapore General Hospital on Thursday night while undergoing treatment there.
