BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir fell ill late Friday night and is now undergoing treatment at home.
BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan said on Saturday that Fakhrul developed a viral infection accompanied by fever.Following medical advice, he is resting at home.
Earlier on Friday night, Fakhrul attended an emergency meeting of the party’s Standing Committee.
He later briefed journalists on the outcomes of the meeting at BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan.
