BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has said they want to collectively build a Bangladesh that is safe for all citizens.
“Together, we want to build a Bangladesh that a mother dreams of — a safe Bangladesh where people can leave their homes without fear and return safely,” he said.
Tarique Rahman made the remarks while addressing a mass reception programme on the capital’s July 36 Expressway (300 Feet Road) on Thursday afternoon.
Referring to the country’s history, he said Bangladesh was achieved at the cost of the blood of millions of martyrs and remains their beloved motherland.
He further said that people of the country want their right to speak restored and expect to receive their rightful entitlements based on merit.
“The time has now come for all of us to come together to rebuild the country,” he said.
Tarique Rahman arrived at the reception venue at around 3:50pm. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir greeted him on behalf of party leaders and activists at the event.
