Winter has firmly set in over Chuadanga, a southwestern border district of the country. A mild cold wave has begun sweeping across the district. Biting cold, icy winds, and dense fog have severely disrupted normal daily life in the area.
A temperature of 9.7 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chuadanga on Friday morning, the lowest this season in the district.
The Meteorological Department reported that a mild cold wave has started affecting Chuadanga from today. The bone-chilling cold has caused the greatest hardship for the homeless and daily wage earners. Despite the severe cold, day laborers, van drivers, and workers are being forced to leave their homes in search of a livelihood.
Both urban and rural areas have come to a standstill due to the intensity of the cold. People are reluctant to go outside unless absolutely necessary. Although the sun appears as the day progresses, the cold remains intense because of the icy winds.
