Attorney General Asaduzzaman resigns

Md Asaduzzaman, the 17th attorney general of Bangladesh, has resigned from his post to participate in the 13th parliamentary election.

Deputy Attorney General Md Asad Uddin told BSS that Asaduzzaman has signed his resignation letter, which will be forwarded to the president on Sunday.

A senior Supreme Court lawyer, Asaduzzaman was appointed attorney general on 8 August 2024.

He will run as a BNP candidate from the Jhenaidah-1 (Shailkupa) constituency in the upcoming polls.

Before serving as the attorney general, Asaduzzaman held the position of Human Rights Secretary of the BNP Central Executive Committee and served as an adviser to the party chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia.
