Quran recitation and a special doa mahfil were held on Tuesday at the BNP’s central office in the city, seeking forgiveness and eternal peace of party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Hundreds of leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated bodies joined the doa mahfil.
Besides, special prayers were offered at mosques and other places of worship across the country, said BNP sources.
The three-time former prime minister passed away at around 6am on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the city. She was 80.
