The nomination paper of Mahmudur Rahman Manna, President of Nagorik Oikya, has been cancelled for the Bogra-2 (Shibganj) constituency.
The Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer, Md Taufiqur Rahman, made the announcement at 3:30pm on Friday after completing the scrutiny of the nomination papers.
The nomination of Shariful Islam Jinnah, former MP of the Jatiya Party, has also been cancelled for the same constituency.
Returning Officer Taufiqur Rahman said Shariful Islam Jinnah did not submit the wealth statement form in his affidavit. His nomination was cancelled due to this inconsistency.
Additionally, Mahmudur Rahman Manna’s nomination was declared cancelled due to discrepancies in the information provided in his affidavit.
