A milad and prayer gathering was held in Navaran of Jhikargachha upazila in Jashore, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of BNP Chairperson and three-time former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia.

Organised by the 7 No. Navaran Union BNP, the prayer programme took place on Friday (January 2) after Asr prayers at Navaran Old Bazar.

Among those present were Navaran Union BNP Joint Conveners Mosharaf Hossain, Nuruzzaman Konok, Zahurul Islam Lintu, Haider Ali and Nazrul Islam (Master); Upazila BNP Executive Member Harunur Rashid Hantu; BNP leaders Abdur Rahim, Momin Master, Alauddin Pantu and Shahid Dewan.

Special prayers were offered for the maghfirat of Begum Khaleda Zia and martyred President Ziaur Rahman. Prayers were also made for the good health and long life of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and all members of the Zia family.

The doa was conducted by Abu Hanifa Al Habibi, Imam and Khatib of Navaran Old Bazar Jame Mosque.

Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate organisations, including Navaran Union Jubo Dal leaders Sujon Hossain, Abdul Wahab Tikka, Hasanuzzaman Ripon, Jewel Rana and Arafat Hossain Laltu, as well as Chhatra Dal leaders Sohel Hossain and Manowar Hossain Sakib, also attended the programme in large numbers.
