Singer Salma Akhter has ended her seven-year marriage. Her husband, lawyer Sanaullah Nore Sagar, announced the separation in a Facebook post on Tuesday night. Later, Salma herself confirmed the news.
The singer said the couple separated about a month ago. “Yes, we have separated. We separated on 29 November. I don’t want to say anything more about it,” she said.
Speaking about her future plans, Salma said she now wants to focus solely on her music. “Now I want to focus only on singing. I don’t want to think about the separation. I want to sing good songs,” she added.
Meanwhile, Sanaullah Sagar wrote in a social media post, “I have ended my marriage with singer Salma. The reason for the separation is differences in opinions and a distance in thoughts and mentality. We made this decision while maintaining mutual respect and dignity. I hope everyone will refrain from making negative comments on this matter.”
It is worth mentioning that Salma, the winner of the second season of “Close-Up One—Tomakei Khujchhe Bangladesh”, married Shibli Sadiq in 2011. That marriage ended in divorce in 2016.
She later married Sanaullah Sagar, but that marriage has also now come to an end.
