The publication ceremony of the Daily Natun Sokaler Barta newspaper was held on Saturday morning at the auditorium of Jashore Press Club.

Dr Sheikh Mohiuddin, executive director of Ad-Din Foundation and chairman of Akij Group, formally inaugurated the newspaper as the chief guest at the event.

The journey of the daily officially began with the unveiling of the cover of its inaugural issue.

The programme was presided over by the newspaper’s publisher, prominent businessman Tayebur Rahman Jahangir.

Special guests included Ekram-ud-Doula, editor of Daily Kalyan, and noted businessman Matiar Rahman.

Delivering the welcome address, Acting Editor M Ayub highlighted the vision and objectives of the newspaper.

Greetings were extended by Aminur Rahman Mamun, acting editor of Daily Samajer Kotha; Akramuzzaman, president of Jashore Journalists Union; SM Farhad, its general secretary; former joint secretary of Jashore Press Club Saiful Islam Sojol; Deowan Morshed Alam, general secretary of District Journalists Union; former president of Jashore Journalists Union Shahid Joy; and former general secretary Touhid Zaman, among others.

The event was conducted by the newspaper’s special correspondent, Tarikul Islam Tarek.
