An discussion meeting and prayer gathering was held seeking the eternal peace of the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia, a symbol of national unity and three-time former prime minister of Bangladesh.

The programme was organised by the leaders and activists of BNP and its associate organisations of Ward No. 5 under Putkhali Union in Sharsha upazila of Jashore. BNP-nominated parliamentary candidate for Jashore-85/1 constituency, Alhaj Nuruzzaman Liton, was present at the event as the chief guest.

Speakers at the prayer gathering sought overall welfare of the country and the nation, restoration of democracy, and eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia’s soul.

Among those who addressed the programme were Sharsha Upazila BNP senior vice-president Advocate Mostafa Kamal Mintu, upazila BNP labour affairs secretary Shahid Ali, joint convener of upazila Jubo Dal Shahidul Islam Shahid, upazila Krishak Dal president Amirul Islam, Putkhali Union BNP president Mofizur Rahman Mofiz, general secretary Abdul Kader, and senior vice-president Kamrul Islam.
