Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the devastating high-speed train accident in Adamuz, near the southern Spanish city of Córdoba, which occurred on Sunday evening.
In a message sent to Spanish President Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, Prof Yunus conveyed condolences on behalf of the people and government of Bangladesh, as well as his own.
He said the tragic incident, which claimed several lives and left many others injured, had deeply saddened Bangladesh.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and the people of Spain during this time of grief,” the Chief Adviser said, according to a statement released by his Press Wing on Tuesday.
He also prayed for mercy for the departed souls, strength for the bereaved families to endure their losses, and a swift and full recovery for those injured in the accident.
Prof Yunus concluded the message by extending his highest regards to the Spanish President.
