Emphasizing the need to safeguard democracy, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam urged citizens to cast a ‘Yes’ vote to ensure that tyranny and misrule never return to the country.
He expressed hope that political parties would engage the public on this crucial issue, noting that many have already expressed support for ‘Yes’ vote.
He made the remarks on Wednesday while visiting Gorpara Imam Bari Dargah Sharif in Manikganj, where he spoke to reporters.
He was accompanied by local dignitaries including sports journalist Arifur Rahman Babu, Shahjada Rahman Badhan and Tazinur Rahman Taz.
Addressing recent attacks on religious shrines across the country, Shafiqul Alam condemned the violence, stating that Bangladesh is a land of communal harmony and that there is no place for attacks on religious sites.
According to official records, nearly 60 shrines have been targeted recently. He assured that those responsible would face legal action.
