Tarique Rahman sworn in as Prime Minister

Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has taken oath as the Prime Minister, marking the formation of a new government following his party’s victory in the 13th National Parliament election.

The oath of office was administered by President Mohammed Shahabuddin at a ceremony held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior political leaders, newly-elected Members of Parliament, government officials, and invited guests were present at the ceremony.

Tarique Rahman’s swearing-in follows his unanimous election as Leader of the House by BNP’s parliamentary party earlier in the day.
