Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu on Friday instructed officials to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, efficiency, and a strong sense of constitutional duty.
He said this at a view-exchange meeting with divisional and district-level officials of the Rajshahi Division at the conference room of the Rajshahi Circuit House.
Speaking as the chief guest, the Land Minister said, “I am a son of the soil of Rajshahi. We are colleagues; none of us is anyone’s boss. You are constitutionally entrusted with responsibilities-those duties must be carried out properly.”
He emphasised that the law is equal for all, stating, “Even if my own child violates the law, necessary action must be taken.”
Addressing administrative officials, the minister warned that negligence in duty would not be tolerated. Administrative activities must be conducted on the basis of integrity, competence, and merit.
Urging respectful behavior and a service-oriented mindset toward citizens, he said that people expect justice and effective services from the administration.
To avoid public suffering during the month of Ramadan, the Land Minister instructed officials to take special preparations, stressing coordinated efforts in market monitoring, law and order, and public services. He also called for a strict stance in implementing a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drugs.
He said that Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is working eighteen hours a day for the country’s development. Under his leadership, the announced 31-point agenda will be implemented in a coordinated manner, the minister added.
He further stated that in the post-election period, every government department will operate within the constitutional framework and that the law will take its own course.
He emphasized the implementation of canal excavation and tree plantation programs to accelerate development activities.
The meeting was chaired by Divisional Commissioner Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid.
Special guests included Member of Parliament Shafiqul Haque Milan, Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Director Brigadier General PKM Masud-Ul-Islam, Deputy Commissioner Afia Akhter, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hasan, BNP Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary and former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul.
Officials present at the meeting highlighted various field-level problems and prospects. Concerned stakeholders expressed hope that the exchange meeting would play an important role in strengthening transparency, accountability, and coordination in administrative activities.
