Jahangirnagar University (JU) has officially renamed four student dormitories that previously carried names associated with the Sheikh family.
The information was confirmed on Friday by ABM Azizur Rahman, acting registrar of the university.
He said that the decision was finalised at a syndicate meeting held Thursday.
As per the decision, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall has been renamed as Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq Hall, the ten-story Sheikh Russell Hall renamed as Nawab Salimullah Hall, Sheikh Hasina Hall retitled as 24 July Jagoroni Hall, and Bangamata Shaikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Hall renamed as Felani Khatun Hall.
