Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud has said that the schedule for the 13th National Parliamentary Election may be announced on Wednesday evening or on Thursday (11 December).

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he said that special emphasis will be placed on ensuring cooperation from all political parties and stakeholders during the schedule announcement.

According to Election Commission (EC) sources, all preparations for the announcement speech have been finalised.

As part of the preparations, the EC has already sent letters to Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar to record the speech of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). The speech by CEC A M M Nasir Uddin regarding the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum will be recorded on Wednesday at around 4pm.

Before this, the CEC, along with other election commissioners, will meet President Mohammed Shahabuddin at 12:30pm on Wednesday to brief him on the overall election preparations.
