The European Union, the United States and the United Kingdom have expressed deep condolences over the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, who died after being shot by assailants.
In separate condolence messages posted on their official social media accounts on Friday, the EU Delegation, the US Embassy and the British High Commission in Dhaka conveyed sympathy to Hadi’s family, friends and supporters.
The EU Delegation said it was “deeply saddened” by the death of Sharif Osman Hadi and extended condolences to his family, friends and all those mourning his loss.
The US Embassy said it stood in solidarity with the people of Bangladesh in mourning the death of the young leader, offering heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and supporters.
The British High Commission also expressed deep sorrow, saying it was “deeply saddened” by Hadi’s death and extended sincere condolences to his family, friends and supporters during this difficult time.
Osman Hadi died at around 9:45 PM on Thursday (December 18), while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital after being critically injured in a shooting.
He was shot in the head on December 12 at Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan area of Dhaka, a day after the schedule for 13th parliamentary election and a referendum was announced.
