During the meeting, Ambassador Hashim expressed his deep appreciation for Bangladesh’s ongoing generosity and support for Rohingya community.
The two officials discussed recent developments in Myanmar, expressing grave concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Rakhine State and the decreasing international financial assistance for Rohingyas residing in Bangladesh.
They agreed to collaborate closely to work towards a swift and sustainable resolution of Rohingya crisis.
Dr. Rahman also briefed the Special Envoy about the upcoming stakeholders’ dialogue on Rohingya issue, scheduled for August 25 in Cox’s Bazar.
Additionally, they exchanged views on the upcoming UN International Conference on the Rohingyas, set to be held at United Nations Headquarters on September 30, expressing optimism that the conference would result in a concrete action plan to address the crisis and secure adequate support for the Rohingyas in Bangladesh.
