Bangladeshi missions in abroad instructed to remove President’s portraits

The Foreign Ministry has instructed all Bangladeshi diplomatic missions, consulates, diplomats’ offices and residences abroad to remove the portrait of President Mohammed Shahabuddin. Sources of some missions said that the directive was informed over phone, not any official letter or email.
Meanwhile, several missions in South Asia, the Asia Pacific, Africa and Europe have not yet received any formal directive. However, heads of at least two missions confirmed receiving such instructions from the government.
