Bangladesh Under-17 Women’s National Football Team bounced back in style, defeating Nepal 3-0 in its third group match of the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship at the Changlimithang Stadium in Bhutan on Sunday.

After suffering a setback against India in their previous outing, the young Tigresses showed grit and determination to reassert themselves in the tournament, with goals from Thuinuye Marma, Suravi Akanda Preety, and substitute midfielder Riya sealing a commanding win.

Bangladesh broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute when ace striker Thuinuye Marma latched onto a clever pass inside the box and coolly slotted home. Moments later, just before the interval, Bangladesh doubled their lead.

A throw-in sparked a rapid move as Alpi Akter charged towards the danger area. Nepalese goalkeeper Laxmi Oli rushed out to intervene but fumbled, and Preety pounced with precision, lofting the ball over the stranded custodian into an empty net.
With a comfortable 2-0 cushion at half-time, Bangladesh controlled proceedings after the restart, keeping Nepal at bay while pressing for a third.

Their persistence was rewarded in stoppage time when substitute Riya capped the night with a fine finish to put the result beyond doubt.

The 3-0 win lifts Bangladesh to six points from three matches, strengthening its bid for a place in the final. Earlier in the campaign, Bangladesh defeated hosts Bhutan 3-1 before going down 2-0 to table-toppers India.

With momentum now restored, Bangladesh will look to carry this winning spirit into their final group match as the championship heads towards its decisive phase.
