Chargesheet filed against Hasina, 13 others in N’ganj murder case

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has submitted a chargesheet to a Narayanganj court against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former MP Shamim Osman, and 12 other individuals in connection with the murder of Latif during the anti-discrimination student movement.

The case stems from the killing of Latif on July 21, 2024 at Siddhirganj upazila in Narayanganj district. The deceased’s father, Nezabuddin, filed a case naming 12 people, including former ministers Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Obaidul Quader as well as Shamim Osman’s son and nephew.

PBI investigation later added two more names, former councillor Shahjalal Badal and Omar Faruq, to the list of accused.

While two of the accused, Matiur Rahman Mati and Haji Yasin, are currently in custody, the remaining individuals, including Sheikh Hasina and Shamim Osman, are reported to be at large.
