BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has welcomed Election Commission’s announced roadmap for the upcoming national parliamentary election, expressing hope that it will pave the way for a return to an elected and accountable government.
Speaking at an event in a Banani hotel on Thursday, Khasru said the people of Bangladesh are waiting for an elected government that truly represents their will.
“The nation is heading towards an election,” he said. “We hope to see significant progress in the economy following the election, because only an elected government is accountable to the people.”
Khasru’s comments came shortly after the Election Commission unveiled its roadmap for the upcoming general elections, outlining key steps and timelines.
