Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has issued a letter requesting law enforcement to issue a red alert against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy in connection with an ongoing land fraud case involving illegal allocation of plots under Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK).

The letter, sent on Thursday by investigating officers of the case, has been forwarded to Police Headquarters, urging immediate action to identify their location and bring them back to face trial.

According to ACC’s letter, both Hasina and Joy have reportedly fled abroad, prompting a court-issued warrant to ensure their return and appearance before the law in the interest of justice.

In a related development, testimony continued on Thursday for the third day in three separate corruption cases filed over alleged fraudulent RAJUK plot allocations involving Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and niece Tulip Siddiq, as well as Azmina Siddiq Ruponti and other accused.

The testimony was recorded at Dhaka’s Fourth Special Judge Court. Earlier, testimony had been taken regarding 44 documents listed in seizure report related to the cases.
