The government has unveiled three official Hajj packages for 2026, setting the minimum cost at Tk 4.67 lakh and the highest at Tk 6.90 lakh.
The announcement was made on Sunday by Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain at a press briefing in Dhaka.

According to the ministry, Hajj Package-1 (Special) will provide accommodation within 700 metres of the Haram Sharif in Makkah and in the central Markazia area of Madinah. Up to five pilgrims will share a room, with six attached bathrooms. In Mina, pilgrims will stay in Zone-2 tents with meals supplied by Moallems and D+ category services in Mina and Arafah.

Hajj Package-2, estimated at Tk 5.58 lakh, places pilgrims 1.2 to 1.8 kilometres from the Haram Sharif in Makkah and in Markazia, Madinah. Rooms will house up to six people with attached bathrooms. Tents will also be located in Zone-2 in Mina, with meals and D category services included.

Both Packages 1 and 2 offer optional upgrades for two- or three-bed rooms, as well as short-stay arrangements in Makkah and Madinah. Standard packages involve a stay of 35 to 47 days, while short-stay options range from 22 to 30 days.

Hajj Package-3, introduced for the first time, is designed as a budget option. Pilgrims will stay in the Azizia area of Makkah and outside the Markazia zone in Madinah. Rooms will accommodate up to six people, with tents in Zone-5 in Mina, meals by Moallems, and D category services in Mina and Arafah. Daily transport by air-conditioned buses will be provided to the Haram Sharif for prayers.

Alongside the government-run packages, a General Hajj Package for Private Agencies has been finalised at Tk 5.09 lakh. Agencies following this framework may also introduce two additional packages of their own.

Khalid Hossain also noted that each pilgrim should budget at least 35 Saudi Riyals per day for meals and personal expenses, as food costs are not included in the packages.
