Vested quarter trying to prevent Durga Puja celebration: Adviser Jahangir

A vested quarter is trying to prevent Durga Puja celebration which is being celebrated by the Hindu community in the country, said Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Monday.
”India is behind the recent Khagrachhari incident.”
Jahangir Alam said, “We have taken all preparation so that the Hundu community can celebrate their Durga Puja in a peaceful atmosphere. A vested group is trying to prevent the festival from being celebrated with religious fervour and festivity.”
He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after inaugurating five newly constructed police station buildings under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police in Ramna on Tuesday.
Jahangir informed that most of the tourists stranded in Khagrachhari and other hill areas due to the unrest have already been brought back.
The home adviser further said that some armed groups had been firing from hilltops, adding that such weapons often come from abroad.
