Nur returns home after treatment in Singapore

President of Gono Odhikar Parishad and former Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) vice president, Nurul Haque Nur, has returned home after receiving medical treatment in Singapore.

He arrived at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday evening, where central leaders of Gana Adhikar Parishad welcomed him.

Party’s General Secretary Rashed Khan said Nur had traveled to Singapore due to health complications following injuries sustained in late August. He received treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital before flying back to Dhaka.

Nur was seriously injured on August 29 during a clash between leaders and activists of the Jatiya Party and Gana Adhikar Parishad in Dhaka’s Bijoynagar.

He suffered head injuries and a broken nasal bone after being beaten by law enforcement personnel. Initially treated at Islami Bank Hospital, he was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he underwent 18 days of treatment before returning home.

Following further medical advice, Nur was sent abroad on September 22 for advanced treatment. His return marks the end of a weeks-long stay in Singapore for recovery.
