The six divisions included in the first phase are Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Mymensingh, and Rangpur, according to sources from the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE).

A senior DPE official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the recruitment notice for these 10,219 vacancies will appear in three national newspapers on Thursday.

In the second phase, recruitment notices will be issued for Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, where 4,166 vacancies remain.

Earlier, on August 28 this year, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued the Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules, 2025. Three days later, on August 31, an eight-member Central Primary School Teacher Recruitment Committee was formed, chaired by the Director General of the DPE and with the Director of Policy and Operations as member-secretary.

On November 2, the revised Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules, 2025 were issued, which removed newly created music and physical education teacher positions and made some minor textual amendments in the rules.
