Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain is set to be a voter in Dhaka-10 constituency.
Asif, former coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement, submits his application for voter registration at Dhanmondi Thana Election Office on Sunday afternoon, according to the ministry sources.
The Dhaka-10 constituency comprises Dhanmondi, New Market, Kalabagan and Hazaribagh areas. The BNP has yet to announce its candidate for this seat, while Jamaat-e-Islami has already nominated Supreme Court lawyer Jasim Uddin Sarkar.
Asif was a registered voter in Cumilla-3 constituency, which includes Muradnagar upazila. There had been speculation that he might contest from that seat.
