A fire broke out at Korail slum in the capital on Tuesday evening prompting 11 units of Fire Service and Civil Defence to dispatched to the scene.
The fire was reported at 5:22 PM, confirmed Rashed Bin Khalid, duty officer of the Fire Service control room.
“We received information at 5:22 PM about a fire at Korail slum. Immediately after being informed, eleven of our units are heading to the location,” he said. He added that the cause of the blaze and the extent of damage could not be determined immediately. No casualties have been reported so far, according to initial updates, he said.
