Reporter Name Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an anti-crime drive arrested an alleged drug peddler with 500 grams of heroin in the district on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrested person is Muhammad Rubel, 29, son of Muhammad Mahatab of Aliganj Adarshagram village in Rajpara Police Station of Rajshahi metropolis, said RAB sources here this morning.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden search in an easy bike at Rajabari hat area under Godagari upazila around 4.30 pm. Subsequently, the RAB members recovered 500 grams of heroin after searching the body of Rubel.
A case was recorded with Godagari Police Station in this connection and the arrested person along with the seized contraband item was handed over to the police this morning.
