Bangladesh have dropped back to 10th place in the ICC men’s ODI rankings, with the latest update seeing West Indies climb above them to ninth.

In May’s annual update of the ICC ODI rankings, Bangladesh had slipped to 10th for the first time since 2006. They regained ninth place last month after winning an ODI in Sri Lanka under stand-in skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz, but could not hold the position for long.

According to the latest ICC standings, Bangladesh now have 77 rating points, one fewer than West Indies, who sit in ninth.

The rankings shift also saw Pakistan drop one place to fifth, with Sri Lanka moving up to fourth. India remains top, followed by New Zealand and Australia.

Pakistan and West Indies will meet in a series-deciding ODI in Trinidad today. ICC’s ranking predictor suggests a Pakistan win could lift them back to fourth, while a West Indies loss would not affect their position. A victory for the Caribbean side, however, would take them to 80 points, widening the gap over Bangladesh.

Bangladesh already occupy 10th place in the ICC T20I rankings and are ninth in Tests.
