Bangladesh batting coach Mohammad Ashraful said on Saturday that he shares an excellent working relationship with senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin, crediting him for easing his transition into the national team’s coaching setup.

Speaking to reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium after Day 4 of the second Test against Ireland, Ashraful praised Salahuddin for providing him the space and support to execute his role.

“Since I have come as a batting coach for this series, Salahuddin Bhai is the assistant senior coach. He has given me the floor to work as the batting coach. But my relationship with him has always been good,” Ashraful said.

Ashraful, who stepped into the role ahead of the Ireland series, acknowledged that Salahuddin has been instrumental in helping him communicate effectively with the players, given that he is still relatively new to coaching at the international level. Before this appointment, he served as assistant coach of the Rangpur Riders in the BPL and head coach of Barishal Division in the NCL.

“I try to pass on my experiences to any player who needs input through Salahuddin Bhai since he has been with the team for the last one year, and most of the players have worked with him. I am new to coaching, so if I need to give any input to a player, I try to call Salahuddin Bhai, share my experience with him, and he tries to convey it. We are trying to work in this way,” he concluded.
