The United States on Monday welcomed the interim government’s recent amendment of the labour act that eased labour union formation process.

“The United States welcomes the Interim Government’s commitment to advancing international labor standards through the 2025 Bangladesh Labor Act (BLA) Amendment Ordinance,” the US Embassy in Dhaka said on its official Facebook page.

“The BLA amendment is a crucial step toward supporting a level playing field for workers and businesses in Bangladesh and the United States. We look forward to the ordinance’s swift passage into law by the next elected parliament,” the statement added.
