Ceramic sector celebrates transitions from import reliance to global heights: Touhid

Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain said ceramic industry, which was once 100 per cent dependent on imports, has now made a place in global market by meeting the country’s demand. Foreign investment in this sector is very positive, he added.
He made the remark at ‘Exhibitor Night 2025’ organised by Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA) which was held at a hotel in the capital on Saturday night as part of four-day Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2025 at the International Convention Center Bashundhara, according to BSS report.

Later, the foreign minister handed over the awards to the recipients.

BCMEA President Moynul Islam was also present at the event. BCMEA general secretary Irfan Uddin, senior vice-president Mamunur Rashid and Abdul Hakim Sumon, among others, spoke on the occasion.

BCMEA President Moynul Islam said that if some facilities are ensured, ceramics can be the second export sector of the country.
For the fourth time, 300 brands, including 135 companies from 25 countries, including Bangladesh, are participating in this world-class exhibition on raw materials, machinery and technology of ceramic products.Three seminars, job fairs, B2B and B2C meetings and new product launches were held at the expo.
