Junior Tigresses fall short against Pakistan

Pakistan Under-19 Women secured a 13-run victory over Bangladesh Under-19 Women in the opening T20 of the five-match series at Cox’s Bazar Academy Ground on Wednesday.

Batting first, Pakistan were bowled out for 88 in 19.4 overs. Captain and opener Eman Naseer top-scored with 30 off 41 balls, including one four. Areesha Ansari contributed 22 runs from 23 deliveries, hitting a four and a six.

Bangladesh’s bowlers made an impressive start, led by Zarin Tasmin Labonno, who took 4 wickets for just 14 runs in 4 overs. Habiba Islam Pinky also claimed 2 wickets as Pakistan struggled to build momentum.

Chasing 89, Bangladesh faltered early, slipping to 22 for 4 and failing to recover. Aritry Mondol Nirjona resisted with 20 runs, while Sadia Akter scored 16 and Mst Boby Khatun added 13, briefly reviving hopes. However, Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 75.

Shahar Bano led Pakistan’s bowling with 3 wickets, and Rozina Akram impressed with figures of 2 for 5 in 4 overs.

The two sides will face off again at the same venue in the second T20 on 5 December.
