Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), one of the leading conglomerates in Bangladesh, has formally entered the retail business sector through a landmark agreement signed with Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) on Monday.
Under the agreement, MGI will operate 9 superstore outlets named ‘Fresh Super Mart’ across 8 stations of MRT Line-6 for a 5-year tenure beginning in January 2026. These will be the first retail outlets to operate inside any metro rail station in Bangladesh.
The agreement was signed by MGI Director Tanveer Mostafa and DMTCL Company Secretary Khondaker Ehteshamul Kabir on behalf of their respective organisations.

Abdul Wohab, Director (Administration) A. K. M. KhairulAlam and other officials from both MGI and DMTCL were present at the signing ceremony.
The 9 Fresh Super Mart superstores will be located at Uttara North (2 outlets- North Side and South Side each), Uttara Center, Pallabi, Mirpur 11, Mirpur 10, Dhaka University, Bangladesh Secretariat, and Motijheel stations. The Mirpur 10 outlet will serve as the flagship superstore with a floor area of approximately 2,105 sq. ft. All outlets will be situated in the concourse area of the metro stations and will be open to the general public. The stores will feature category-specific consumer goods sections, food stations, and dedicated coffee and juice corner. Fresh Super Mart will commence operations from January 2026.
MGI currently operates 3 Fresh Super Mart outlets at Meghnaghat and Sonargaon in Narayanganj, and at Tejgaon in Dhaka.
