President hosts doa mahfil for Khaleda Zia’s recovery

President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Friday hosted milad and doa mahfil at all mosques within the Bangabhaban compound after Jummah prayers, seeking the swift recovery of BNP Chairperson and former three-time prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The president joined the doa at the Bangabhaban Jame Masjid, where he also offered Jummah prayers alongside his secretaries and senior officials.

Bangabhaban Jame Masjid Pesh Imam Maulana Muhammad Saiful Kabir conducted the doa, praying for the early recovery of Begum Zia. A special prayer was also offered for her long life and good health.

Prayers were additionally offered for the peace, prosperity and welfare of the nation. Family members of the president, along with civil and military officials and employees of Bangabhaban, attended the programme.

The 80-year-old former prime minister has been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital since November 23.

Khaleda Zia is likely to fly to London on Sunday for advanced medical treatment.

Earlier this year, she spent four months in London for medical treatment and returned home on May
