Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has directed all police personnel to maintain complete impartiality during the upcoming national elections, emphasizing professionalism, neutrality and dedication in performing their duties.
The instruction came during the DMP’s monthly crime review meeting for November 2025, held at Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Wednesday.
Addressing newly appointed officers-in-charge (OCs) of various police stations, the Commissioner urged them to thoroughly understand the crime patterns in their areas and focus on the swift identification and arrest of habitual offenders to ensure law and order.
Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Md. Sarwar announced plans to intensify patrolling across all police stations, enhance monitoring through newly installed CCTV cameras at key locations and make greater use of government-issued motorcycles for improved mobility.
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam instructed OCs and deputy commissioners to analyze crime trends in their respective jurisdictions and take targeted action.
He stressed greater responsibility in case disposals and warrant executions, along with increased identity verification during domestic worker hiring and community awareness through beat policing. Islam also called for heightened vigilance ahead of Martyred Intellectuals Day and Victory Day.
During the meeting, Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) Md. Faruk Hossain presented the detailed crime statistics for November 2025, covering incidents such as robbery, theft, murder, road accidents, abuse against women and children and drug and arms recoveries.
Recognition awards were presented to DMP officers of various ranks for their outstanding performance in law enforcement, crime prevention and public safety.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Additional Police Commissioners Md. Masud Karim (CTTC), Md. Shafiqul Islam BPM, PPM (DB), Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali (Logistics, Finance and Procurement), along with Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, OCs of all DMP stations and officers of multiple ranks.
