A two-day defence dialogue between Bangladesh and the United States began on Wednesday at Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, marking the 12th round of such talks.
Military delegations from both countries are participating in the discussions, which are considered crucial for deepening bilateral military cooperation, according to an ISPR press release.
The dialogue will address a wide range of topics, including global and regional security, defence technology, military equipment, disaster response, peacekeeping operations, training, inspections, joint exercises and workshops.
Leading the Bangladesh delegation is Brigadier General Muhammad Ali Haider Siddiqui, Director General of Operations and Plans at the Armed Forces Division, while Brigadier General Sarah Helen Russ heads the US delegation.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Coast Guard and other agencies are also participating.
The dialogue is expected to strengthen military collaboration and further consolidate the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and the United States.
