Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has underscored the critical role of the Remount Veterinary and Farm (RV&F) Corps in ensuring the Bangladesh Army’s nutrition and food security.

He called on its members to push forward in technological innovation, research, professional development and long-term planning.

At the beginning of his speech, the Army Chief honoured the martyred freedom fighters of the Liberation War, praised the RV&F Corps’ proud legacy, and urged its personnel to stay ready for the challenges of the 21st century.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), the RV&F Corps Annual Commanders’ Conference 2025 was held yesterday at the RV&F Depot in Savar, with the Army Chief attending as chief guest.

He was welcomed by the newly appointed Colonel Commandant—also the GOC of the 9th Infantry Division and Savar Area Commander—alongside senior officers from Army Headquarters and the Savar Area.

The event brought together senior commanders, the GOC of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, the Adjutant General, junior commissioned officers, personnel of various ranks and media representatives.

On 9 December, Major General S M Asadul Haque took charge as the Corps’ third Colonel Commandant and was formally decorated with the rank badge at the depot’s parade ground in line with military tradition.
