Sigma, Fuad seek necessary security to EC

Kazi Reha Kabir Sigma, an independent candidate for Kishoreganj-4 constituency, and Asaduzzaman Fuad, general secretary of the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party and potential candidate for Barishal-3 (Babuganj-Muladi) seat, have requested the Election Commission (EC) to ensure their safety in the upcoming elections.

Both submitted separate written appeals at the Election Commission Secretariat on Wednesday (December 17).
Kazi Reha Kabir Sigma met with Chief Election Commissioner A M M Nasir Uddin and other commissioners, while Fuad met Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah and EC’s senior secretary Akhter Ahmed for necessary security measures expressing concerns over safety.
Sigma claimed that on the night of December 16, one of his campaign workers Md Kiamat Ali was arrested on a fabricated case, causing panic among his team and disrupting his campaign.
She demanded a thorough investigation, legal action against perpetrators.
