Bangladesh’s position in the FIFA Men’s World Ranking remains unchanged, with the national men’s team continuing at 180th place in the December 2025 edition released on Monday. With no international matches played after the Asian Cup qualifiers on 18 November, there was no scope for movement in the standings, leaving the rankings of Hamza Chowdhury, Shamit Shome and their teammates intact.
Although Bangladesh’s ranking position stayed the same, there was a slight adjustment in rating points. The team’s total dropped marginally from 911.19 points in November to 911.10 points in December. This minor change stems from the recalculation of points related to the friendly matches against Nepal played during the November window.
Bangladesh had hosted Nepal in one match, while the away fixture ended in a 2–2 draw. That result slightly favoured Nepal in terms of rating points, as they gained 0.08 points to move from 902.44 to 902.52. However, Nepal’s ranking position also remained unchanged at 181st, as Belize, ranked just above them, continue to hold a significantly higher points tally.
Notably, the Bangladesh–Nepal friendly had not been included in the November FIFA ranking due to administrative issues. The Bangladesh Football Federation raised the matter with FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation, and both organisations had confirmed that the adjustment would be reflected in the December update, which has now been implemented through a points revision rather than a positional change.
On the global stage, the December 2025 ranking marks the final FIFA ranking of the year, influenced by 42 international matches worldwide, with the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 taking centre stage. Spain remain at the top of world football, followed by Argentina and France, while the rest of the top ten nations saw no changes. Further down the table, a few teams made modest gains, but overall stability defined the end-of-year rankings.
