‘If ‘Yes’ wins in referendum, Bangladesh will win’

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that rejecting a referendum means slavery, the foundation of the election is the ‘Yes’ vote.
Addressing a electoral rally at Eidgah Maydan in Jashore on Tuesday morning as chief guest, the Jamaat Ameer said, ”If ‘Yes’ wins in the referendum, Bangladesh will win; if it loses, Bangladesh will lose. No one has the right to obstruct campaigning for the ‘Yes’ vote.”
”To honor the July martyrs and to realise the aspirations of the people, we ask for your votes for the balance scale. Those who cannot ensure the safety of their own party leaders and activists, cannot be trusted to keep the country safe.”
Seeking vote for his party, he said, ”Our symbol is the balance scale. We will not reduce or increase anything on the scale; everyone will be given their rightful due.”
He promised that he will announce the Jashore as city corporation if comes to power.
Referring to the BNP, he said, ”In one hand, there are family cards; on the other, hands are being laid on women. These two cannot go together. This sends a message that if they come to power, no one will be safe.”
Reiterating employment opportunities for extortionists, Jamaat Ameer has said that if the party comes to power, employment opportunities will be created for extortionists will be rehabilitated into respectable positions.
”We never even thought of running the country alone. We want to move forward by uniting the nation. That’s why we have united with 11 parties. We want to take this nation forward.”
