BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday urged all to maintain peace and law and order in the country at any cost, saying patience and unity are essential to confront any conspiracy.

He made the remarks while speaking at a mass reception event held on Thursday afternoon in Purbachal, on the outskirts of the capital.

“The peace and discipline of the country must be preserved at any cost. Everyone must move forward with patience to counter conspiracies,” Tarique said.

He added that the people of Bangladesh want to regain their right to speak freely and their democratic rights.

“The people want democracy back. Together, we will build a safe Bangladesh,” he said.

Referring to key moments in the country’s history, the BNP leader said, “We achieved independence in 1971, and in 2024 the people of this country defended its sovereignty.”
