Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) is set to join an alliance led by Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Andolan Bangladesh.

AB Party Secretary General Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad disclosed the decision while speaking to reporters on Monday afternoon (December 29) after submitting his nomination papers at Barishal Returning Officer’s office.

He said a policy-level decision has already been taken and that the party will formally join the alliance in Dhaka after the nomination submission process is completed.

Fuad said discussions on seat-sharing have already been held, with negotiations continuing over several constituencies. “We will go to Dhaka and officially announce our joining of the alliance after submitting nomination papers,” he added.

Addressing the government, the AB Party leader said a joint operation is needed to bring the law and order situation under control ahead of the election. He also said that if elected, he would work to ensure peace and prosperity for the people. Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad will contest the election from the Barishal-3 constituency, covering Babuganj and Muladi areas.
