Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) on Wednesday announced the results of 2025 written examination for the recruitment of assistant teachers in government primary schools.
A total of 69,265 candidates have passed the written test and have been selected for viva voce.
The announcement was made in a notice signed by Director General of Directorate of Primary Education, Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman.
The written exam was held simultaneously on January 9 in 61 districts across the country, excluding the three hill districts.
The test was conducted for recruitment to revenue-funded posts of assistant teachers in government primary schools under Primary Education Directorate.
According to the notice, the results of the written exam can be accessed on the websites of Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (mopme.gov.bd) and Directorate of Primary Education (dpe.gov.bd).
The written exam saw participation of over 10.8 lakh candidates competing for 14,385 vacant posts.
In the days leading up to the exam, rumours of leaked questions circulated widely on social media, with some individuals claiming to share leaked question papers online.
A group known as “Device Party” reportedly attempted to assist candidates in cheating using electronic devices for a substantial fee.
During the examination, 207 candidates were caught using electronic devices to cheat. The highest numbers of arrests occurred in Gaibandha (53), followed by Naogoan (18), Dinajpur (18), Kurigram (16) and Rangpur (2).
Despite calls from some candidates to cancel the exam over allegations of leaks and malpractice, Directorate of Primary Education stated that no evidence of question leaks was found and that those involved in cheating attempts have been apprehended.
Consequently, the exam results remain valid and no cancellation will take place.
